For Angelique Daniels, painting is much more than creating something beautiful. It has always been about creating something meaningful.
As the founder of Painting with Angelique LLC, Angelique has spent more than a decade proving that art can do far more than fill a canvas. Through more than 500 paint events, she has watched people walk in carrying stress, hesitation, or self-doubt and leave smiling, proud, and often surprised by what they were capable of creating.
“Many adults haven’t picked up a paintbrush since childhood,” Angelique shares. “When they finally do, something beautiful happens—they laugh, they open up, and they realize creativity is still inside them.”
That transformation is what continues to drive her mission. In Las Vegas, Angelique is now partnering with behavioral health organizations including Mingo Behavioral Health Services and Restorative Health and Life, where art becomes more than an activity, but also a healing outlet. Participants often begin quietly, then gradually open up through the creative process, finding expression without pressure or judgment.
Scientific research increasingly supports what Angelique has witnessed firsthand: art can reduce stress, improve focus, and strengthen emotional resilience. That same principle is now extending into corporate wellness, where she brings guided painting experiences into workplaces for team building, employee engagement, and morale.
With nearly 30 years of management experience at Darden Restaurants (Olive Garden), Angelique understands the demands of leadership and hopes to one day introduce art-as-therapy breakout sessions at management conferences, giving leaders a space to recharge and reconnect creatively.
But perhaps her deepest purpose is rooted in personal experience. Her nonprofit, Paint 4 Kidneys, was born after Daniels became a living kidney donor for her husband, Will, during his battle with kidney failure. Angelique adds, “As an artist, I wanted to use my creativity and my voice to help bring awareness to this cause.” Today, she volunteers with Nevada Donor Network and advocates for Donate Life America, using art to spark life-saving conversations.
A Las Vegas resident for nearly 30 years, Angelique and her husband have built both family and purpose in the city, raising two children: Myles, currently serving in the U.S. Army overseas, and Liza, a student at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Whether through healing, advocacy, or celebration, Angelique continues to prove one powerful truth: Art has the power to bring people together and open hearts.
